POLITICAL EXPERIENCE

A strong and united nation is founded on sound policy and practical outcomes. As an Advisor and Chief of Staff in the Howard and O’Farrell governments, Katherine has been at the forefront of significant Liberal achievements that have advanced economic outcomes and strengthened the social fabric of Australia. This including the introduction of the goods and services tax, the sale of government assets and energy sector reforms, environmental protection and preservation of our heritage.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP

Australia’s future requires an integrated approach that builds the trust and confidence of the people.  As a community leader, Katherine understands the responsibility and challenge of delivering key local services, engaging the community and being accountable and transparent. She led the strategy for the revitalisation of Double Bay commercial centre, fought to protect private property rights and has driven the preservation of public open space.

Federal Parliament needs strong Liberal members with a demonstrated capacity to build communities, bring people together and deliver growth.

Katherine has the right mix of national and international business, policy and government leadership experience, as well as the passion and commitment, to serve and deliver for the community of Wentworth at the local and national level.

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

Katherine continues to demonstrate her ability to lead national public policy dialogue and debate as a Director of The Sydney Institute. In her own business endeavours, Katherine has sustained her policy contribution in areas such as the future direction of Australia’s financial system and the economic and social importance of coal and renewal energy.

As Executive Director of the Cities Leadership Institute, Katherine continues to build the capacity of leaders in cities, towns and communities across the country to address the critical issues of population growth and the impact of increased urbanisation. Having been touched by suicide in her own family, Katherine is particularly aware of the challenges communities face around social isolation and mental health.

“She is the authentic local candidate and she has worked in the both the private sector and three tiers of government. She is an independent thinker and not afraid to ask the right questions when necessary. I am confident that if pre-selected she will be an outstanding candidate and Liberal member”
